California Outlaw of Foil Balloons Bill SB 1499

Our balloon business has continued to grow since we started in August of 2007. There is much to be learned and experiment with when it comes to creating balloon bouquets. We recently had a chance to express our concerns about the proposed Bill SB 1499 that would of prohibit the sale of all foil balloons in the State of California. When we received an email sometime in March of 2008 from a Representative of Qualatex. We where shocked to find out what this bill was proposing especially since we had worked so hard in building our new balloon business.

What many people don't realize is that the current law that is in place prohibits the release of any helium-filled metallic balloons and retailers are required by law to attach a weight to the balloon so that they will not float away.

We hope that responsible retailers continue to obey the law of attaching weights to all metallic balloons so that we can all continue to sell foil balloons to the consumer and we can continue to offer balloon delivery in Orange County.
